2012

The year 2011 brought positive changes to this already excellent program. For over two years, we distributed food products to the needy in the open air – hot and cold, rain and shine. We now have a wonderful new home. Closer Walk Church (behind BB&T on Village Rd.).  Having an indoor setup leaves us with many more options that we will be able to explore as the time passes.

FOOD DRIVE - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

MANNA MINISTRIES, a collaboration of Leland area churches and civic groups is conducting a food collection drive. All food collected will be distributed to hungry Leland area families. The increasing costs of groceries, gas and utilities, as well as fallout from the housing crisis and economic slowdown, have caused a crisis in many families’ ability to provide adequate, nutritious food for their family. Every food donation helps in the fight against hunger – no matter how small or large.

Each month we plan on distributing food to 100 families.  This costs about $16 per family, or $1600 per month.

Manna Ministries accepts donations at:

East Carolina Bank on US-17 (near Wal-Mart)

Leland Public Library on Village Road

Magnolia Greens Club House (residents only)

Asset Storage, 9820 Blackwell Dr, Leland

You may also drop food off at the pantry

the Monday before distribution at 7:30pm

Area churches, schools and civic organizations are encouraged to get involved. Please contact Pastor Jay Merritt (pastor@mannaleland.org)
